Brighton Inshore Fishing - Catch report 4th November

I did think I was going to get away with both sailings today, but Neptune, having recently heavily re-stocked my patch, wanted to preserve the stock a little longer. I headed out onto heavier than expected seas, with Bruno, David, David and Kaz along for the ride. And which way to go was forced upon me by said sea state. But I didnt mind. I have two areas where fishes are quite readily feeding at the moment, one left, one right, as I exit the marina.

How do I know this without sailing? Nature tells me, even when I am trapped ashore. And better than that, nature tells a myriad of my people who all know I will be happy for reports of feeding birds. The beauty of fishing close, is I can use even non sailing time, to improve the prospects for my clients. And so we went straight to the fish.

2 hours later, 22 fish landed, max kill of 6, plus half a dozen top ups. But with the quite big flood tide now full bore, and the wind having lost the ENE and become the proper E, suddenly a 21' boat was rather small. And with BIF1 a very safe boat on the move in any sea, it was time to head back in. I can actually say more about the Pirate's sea keeping skills. Many of you will know Glenn Milligan. He is currently selling his twin engined 21CC pirate "pirate Gracie" as a working operation, with all rods, reels and even the websites, as he has found a more profitable angle with boats than running bass anglers around. He describes the pirate as "the best sea boat I have ever owned". Coming from him, with all the boats he has skippered over the years, is very high praise indeed. And if anyone fancies having a go at what I do for a living, drop me a line and I will pass on your details to Glenn. Highly recommended lifestyle choice, that suits anyone without commitments. As you do have to give it everything to get the rewards.
