Out on mid flood. With me, Richard, Mark, Richard, and with this Richard, his sister Salma, visiting all the way from Egypt for a 2 week trip, in part to celebrate her recent 18th birthday. How flattering that Richard considered a trip aboard BIF1 as an integral part of her trip. Best Neptune lives up to the situation.
Which he did. A little harder to find the fish today, and when we did they came in fits and starts. Yet, by the end of the session, Salma's first real fishing trip, we had managed to bag 16 fish, with all bar 3 table plus sized. Maximum kill, and more importantly Salma returns to her homeland a competent angler. She just needs to move nearer the coast a bit...
Second sailing was cancelled, and third sailing moved to take advantage of the early flood. The morning session had died with the tide as we neared high tide, but this late afternoon session was all on quite strong flood, with a SE breeze acting as a brake. With me, Dean, Gabbs, JJ and his son Zed.
Fully expecting a repeat of the morning session, it was a bit of a shock to find all those same places completely devoid of fish. After not finding them on the 5th location, I realised I had to find some action, so headed to a spot very consistent for fish this year, but the fish tending to be a bit on the small side. And that is exactly how it panned out. We again landed 16 bass, but on this occasion only two were for the table. Quite a contrast.
